The Sambhar Lake is the largest lake of India (length 22.5 kms). The lake was owned by various rulers during their reigns over the region. In 1870, this beautiful saline lake was leased to British, and now it is owned by Government of India. The lake is divided into sections, and offers a visit to salt laboratory and salt museum.
